Chest Wall Deformities

Chest wall deformities, or abnormal development and appearance of the chest, can vary from mild to severe. These deformities are considered to be congenital and may be apparent at birth or later in childhood.

Fetal Treatment Program

Under the direction of Dr. Michael Harrison, the Fetal Treatment Center was the first institution to develop fetal surgery techniques. The first open fetal surgery in the world was performed at UCSF in the early 1980's. We continue our dedication to research and innovation.

Pediatric Intestinal Rehabilitation & Transplant Program

The Pediatric Intestinal Rehabilitation & Transplant Program specializes in caring for children with intestinal failure. This failure happens when the intestines can no longer digest food and absorb the fluids, electrolytes and nutrients essential for a child to live and develop normally.

Birthmarks and Vascular Anomalies Center

The UCSF Birthmarks and Vascular Anomalies Center was founded in 1991. We have provided state-of-the-art, highly specialized care for all types of vascular birthmarks and anomalies, from the most common to the rare and complex.

Pediatric Pancreas Program

The Pediatric Pancreas Program provides expert care for children of all ages, from infants to teens, with acute or chronic pancreatic conditions. We're one of the few approved National Pancreas Foundation centers in California.

Trauma -care -2x

Trauma Center

The Trauma Care Center at UCSF Benioff Children's Hospital Oakland is an ACS verified Level 1 Pediatric Trauma Center (one of only five in California) and is dedicated exclusively to caring for children.
